Bonne Maman is the world's most famous French brand, founded in 1971 by the Andros company. It is also the highest imported jam brand to America.
"Bonne Maman" means "Grandma" in French because of its cozy country inspired branding and high-quality, natural ingredients.
Recognizable because of its iconic red gingham-patterned lid, and delicious taste.
Due to Bonne Maman's fame and simple branding, Andros trusted Pearl Resourcing to create BRANDED PACKAGING to make gifting Bonne Maman recognizable and fun.
Equally important was the priority that it be safe (glass jars break in transit!) for their e-commerce and club store which was the primary location for sales.
Pearl started with looking at the target customer, branding, and studied the product.
Based on the structural vulnerabilities and desire for SIMPLICITY in packaging design each giftable item was curated and then heavily tested in shipping.

Let's walk through the structural design process
You can see on picture 2 and 3 the two different options we created to display this adorable #minijams. Notice the dividing rows of each picture...
In ROUND 1 of our structural design we made the box as compact and small and structurally safe as possible BUT showed creases and wear quickly. Do you notice the crease?
In ROUND 2 you can see the change we made to the folding carton to eliminate the fold with a thicker fold. This lifted the jam jars, creating space between each row acreated a better giftable look.
