About Jocko Willink

Jocko Willink spent 20 years in the SEAL Teams, starting as an enlisted SEAL and rising through the ranks to become a SEAL officer. As commander of SEAL Team Three’s Task Unit Bruiser during the battle of Ramadi, he orchestrated SEAL operations that helped the “Ready First” Brigade of the U.S. Army’s First Armored Division bring stability to the violent, war-torn city. Task Unit Bruiser became the most highly decorated Special Operations Unit of the Iraq War.

Willink's latest book, The Dichotomy of Leadership, co-authored with Leif Babin and set to be released later this month, the authors explain the power inherent in the recognition of the fine line that leaders must walk, often balancing between two seemingly opposite inclinations -- such as the concept that a good leader must also be a good follower. It is with the knowledge and understanding of this balance that a leader can most effectively lead, accomplish the mission and achieve the goal of every leader and every team: Victory.
