When global agencies made ChocZero feel corporate and unheard, Pearl CPG turned their personality into packaging reality — helping them stay #1 online while breaking into retail with heart.

The Challenge

ChocZero had already built a massive e-commerce presence, becoming the #1 low-sugar chocolate company on Amazon.
When it came to branding, they struggled to find a partner who truly understood their audience and values.
Agency #1 (U.S. firm): Told ChocZero their look was “too feminine” and dismissed their use of florals — despite the fact that women were their primary buyers.
Agency #2 (Italian global design firm for brands like Nutella): Delivered polished, corporate concepts that stripped away the heart and personality of the brand, making ChocZero's brand feel like another faceless CPG giant.
In both cases, ChocZero felt unheard. Their uniqueness and heart were lost.

Adding it as an accept instead of a focal point is a nod to fine chocoalte experience you can expect from bars made from real cocoa and cocoa butter.
The result was packaging that was not only retail-ready but also irresistible on shelf — grabbing attention while still feeling true to the brand’s voice.
With a diversity of flavors - ranging from WHITE, MILK and DARK chocolate base with various inclusions - Pearl created a design language for customers to understand the flavor when side-by-side on a search result on Amazon or on shelf.
Clarity in Education
Pearl highlighted what sets ChocZero apart: their use of 100% natural monk fruit — a premium, low-glycemic sweetener often misunderstood by consumers.
The emotion created with tasting rich flavor was missing in their design. Pearl added waves of chocolate to express the feelings created by a rich bold bite.
Also their diverse flavors were not in consistent locations and clear to customers. Pearl developed a flavor ribbon to make "flavor' easy to find.
Unlike competitors mixing monk fruit with cheaper sweeteners like erythritol or stevia, CHOCZERO could now clearly communicate their authenticity and value.
Pearl also encouraged ChocZero to embrace the transition from "ChocZero Chocolate" to "Premium Chocolate" and also "ChocZero Premium Sweets" because of their expensive ingredients and superior manufacturing process.
They also helped ChocZero imagine the fast approaching future beyond bars of chocolate and keto bark into all sweet snacks.
Candy Line Expansion
With a strong brand foundation, Pearl helped ChocZero successfully launch new products, from chocolate-covered almonds, to the Rhea Bar, to dark, milk and white Peanut Butter Cups.
